In the north we have a Regional Committee of volunteers who help to run the region - meet the team that keep the north on the map!
Each committee member has their own area of expertise, the regional committee for Northern consists of representatives for the following areas:

- Marketing - Lynne White and Sarah McClarron
Meet your committee
Vikki’s role as Regional Chairman is to provide leadership for the committee and to support the British Dressage Northern Region. Vikki has a strong interest in dressage, has been actively involved with the sport as a BD Trainer/UKCC Level 3 and list 3 Judge and BHSI with masters in Teaching.
She brings a balanced overview to the implementation of the policies agreed by the board and the main technical committees. Vikki works closely with Jo (our Northern Regional Development Officer) to ensure that the Regional Committee functions effectively to maximise the potential of each area. Vikki encourages collaborative working and assists in resolving any issues within the region.
Lucinda has an MA in Business and a passion for rural enterprise. She competed in British Dressage from Prelim to Advanced, is a UKCC level 2 and a list 5 judge. Lucinda has always enjoyed welcoming and encouraging all riders of all levels into British Dressage to begin their journey and more specifically the under 25 age group. She thoroughly enjoys supporting all BD Youth Riders and the BD Youth Northern Region teams at the three main competitions Keysoe Inter-Regionals, Home International and Sheepgate Under 25s.
Sarah’s role is to look after Senior Training with an emphasis on teams and their preparation. She is a Lawyer by profession, and has enjoyed her horses and dressage as a hobby whilst also running Richmond horsebox Hire. She is an active competitor and BD Listed Judge. She has been a regular member of Senior Teams and Chef d 'equipe.
Charlotte is the regions Coaching Representative. Charlotte runs Snainton Riding Centre near Scarborough, North Yorkshire. She is a BD List 3a dressage Judge, a UKCC Level 3 British Dressage Accredited Coach, and Youth Assessor and UKCC Level 3 Generic Coach. Charlotte also holds the British Horse Society’s Stage 5 Performance Coach in Complete Horsemanship (BHSI). She coaches and competes, competing a variety of different types of horses, with a particular interest in ROR being the former coach to the ROR Display Team. After developing a strong interest in coaching following the UKCC qualifications she took a Master’s Degree in Sports Coaching, which offered a sound basis to theory to attach to the practical knowledge gained through the years working in the industry. She is very keen to develop coaching opportunities within the region.
Gillian is the Para Dressage Representative. Gillian Brown has been a BD member since she was 18 years old; she helps run the family farm and competes her two horses on a regular basis both in able bodied and Para dressage. As a Para rider she has valuable insight in how to become a BD Para rider and the various options open to both new and already classified riders. Gillian trained at Etal with Lady Joicey and now trains with Angela Weiss and Gwyneth Lewis our Northern judges Representative. Gillian is one of the most Northerly members in the Northern Region.
Gwyneth is a list 1 judge and UKCC level 3 coach and has competed up to Grand Prix. She is the Judges Representative for the Northern Region. Gwyneth is point of contact for judges, competitors and organisers and regularly feeds back info to British Dressage Head Office. She is responsible for organising judge training in the region. She is always happy to help judges competitors and organisers with any queries etc they may have as is experienced in the dressage world from all aspects.
Lynne is the marketing representative for the seniors, para and coaching. She has worked in the marketing profession for almost 20 years with both a degree and postgraduate diploma in the subject. She has recently started competing in British Dressage.
