South & East BD Youth
If you're aged between six and 25 and want to get involved in dressage in your region, then BD Youth in the South & East region is for you!
BD Youth offers not only competitions, teams, prizes and top training, but also the chance to make new friends and have fun! Wherever you live there's a BD Youth group near you - so taking part is easy, simple and enjoyable. In the South & East we try and spread out events over all the counties we cover. We have squadding days, test riding, camps, clinics and demos, so why not come along and find out more?
South & East Youth Regional Representatives
We have three Youth Regional Reps in the South & East. Phillippa Coles and Eve Fifer are on hand to answer any questions you have about getting involved with BD Youth in the South & East region and work with our older riders. They are in charge of teams, squadding and entry into Foundation Academies and other opportunities for young riders.
If you are under 12 years old, Jessica Brown is your point of contact. Jessica works with our younger riders just starting out on their dressage journey, making dressage fun and ensuring that they understand how to look after their pony, how to ride a test, and meet other people of the same age at our camps, training days and other events.
Meet our BD Youth Ambassadors! We have two Ambassadors in the South & East - Sophie Delia and Kelsey Love. If you see them out and about make sure you say hi!
Here in the South & East region we host loads of training sessions and social activities throughout the year that you can get involved with. Have lessons with national and local coaches, meet fellow young riders with a passion for dressage and have great fun progressing towards your training goals. Sessions and camps run during the school holidays and over weekends and include everything from test riding and training to unmounted workshops, DVD sessions and social activities.
BD Youth Squads
When you start your BD Youth training journey within your region, you can attend assessment days to be allocated to a BD Youth Regional Squad. Being squadded opens up a whole bunch of opportunities for team competition, including the Home International, BD Youth U25s Championships and Inter Regionals.
If you're ready to be squadded then you can book onto an assessment day within the region:
Squadding and Horse Care Course
Our BD Horse Care course is designed to help you as a rider learn all of the fundamentals in caring for horses. If you’re a BD Youth rider who is looking to be eligible to compete our regional teams in 2021, you’ll need to have begun working through the horse care online course.
