British Dressage Central Region Needs you!

All the activities in our region run in a large part due to our amazing commitee of volunteers.

We have some exciting vacancies coming up so if you would like to join a special group of people,  have some spare time and a serious desire to make a difference to Dressage in our region then take a look at the opportunities below.

Regional Chairman / Chairwoman

This important role will involve leading the committee of regional representatives and working closely with the Regional Development Officer to deliver BD activity, as agreed by the technical committees. You will enable members in your region to have access to good quality training, competitions and other supporting activities to help them get the most out of their sport. The Regional Chair will also help to ensure that their members’ views and needs are represented throughout BD.

The successful candidate will need to be approachable, enthusiastic, diplomatic, responsible and professional, ideally living within the Central (which includes Northamptonshire, Warks, Oxon, Bucks, Berks, and Hampshire). An ability to support, motivate and lead the Regional Committee members is also essential.

A dressage background and prior involvement with BD (for example, as a judge, trainer, organiser, rider or owner) is required for this position. You will be supported directly by the BD Chief Executive, the RDO and the Regional Committee. The post is voluntary, but expenses to attend meetings will be paid. Download the

Coaching Representative 

Are you an experienced coach or coach educator? Would you like to put something back in to the sport of Dressage? BD Central Region’s committee is looking for a Coaching Representative. You will be working in conjunction with the regional committee,  helping to promote the UKCC qualification, dressage coaching in the region as well as developing opportunities for Coach education in the region.

Marketing Representative

Would you like to put something back in to the sport of Dressage whilst broadening your own CV and experience? If so, we’d like to speak to about a great voluntary opportunity to become the Central Region’s Marketing Representative.  You will be working in conjunction with our current marketing representative to maximise the opportunities in the region to grow our sport. We are looking for someone who has experience in sponsorship and commercial opportunities.

Recent Newsletters 

All the Official BD Central Region training can be booked via our on-line booking system to make it even easier for you to plan your training and join in with the activities in our region.                                                        



We run training for Seniors, BYRDS, Judges, Para riders and Coaches across the region.  We also have DVD evenings, Yard Visits and camps.  All our training is open to both BD members and Non-members of all levels, there is something for everyone. If there is something you would like to do but cannot see it just let us know.

There are 2 main options to look at for membership for BYRDS riders
Club Membership -   If you are not currently a member and you would like to become a Club member is £30 and it is a great place to start. 
For this you can attend all our training at the same cost as a member, compete in prelim affiliated classes including qualifiers and also Team Quest, My Quest and Music classes, you are also covered by the BD insurance, legal helpline and have access to BD website and on line magazine. 
Full Membership - Young riders wanting to complete above prelim level need to become Full Members.  This is £90 per year and gives you full access to all BD competitions and training as well as BD insurance, legal helpline, access to the BD Website, membership discounts and you will receive the BD magazine through the post.
