Butler and Tomlinson make their mark at Oldenburg CDI4*

British riders enjoyed success last week at Oldenburg CDI4* in Germany (31 October – 3 November 2019) with Lara Butler and Laura Tomlinson both finishing top-five in the Grand Prix.

Lara, aboard Wilfried Bechtolsheimer’s 14 year old Kristjan (pictured at the LeMieux National Championships in September) achieved an impressive second place in the Grand Prix on 72.457% behind the home nation’s winners, Hubertus Schmidt and Escolar, going on to a super Freestyle third (74.315%).

“Not our best start to a freestyle but we got our mojo back for some of the movements! But super proud of how much this horse has come on recently... showing some exciting work!” said Lara on Facebook.

Laura and new ride Rose of Bavaria, a beautiful black Bordeaux x Florestan I mare owned by her father, Wilfried Bechtolsheimer, impressed with a super fifth place in the Grand Prix followed by third in the Special. This achievement is all the more notable with it being the nine year old mare’s international debut.  

Laura took to Facebook to say, “Betty was super at the AGRAVIS-Cup over the weekend with a fifth in the Grand Prix with 70.891% and a third in her first Grand Prix Special with 71.404%.”
