BD member update: EHV-1
Many of you will have seen reports on the current major outbreak of a very aggressive strain Equine Herpes Virus (EHV-1 – neurological form) which is active in Europe. The origin of the outbreak has been traced to a jumping show in Valencia and horses have travelled onwards from the venue and inadvertently spread the virus across Europe and beyond.

BD Operational Plan maps the way ahead
A week on from the welcome news that BD activity can resume in England from 29 March, British Dressage can now share with stakeholders our operational plan for the safe return of training and competitions. We await further news from the devolved governments of Scotland and Wales to confirm a resumption date for these nations in due course.

COVID-19 Update: BD competition and training activity to return in England from 29 March
The outline plans for easing out of lockdown have now been announced by the governments in England and Scotland. Organised competition and training activity will be able to return in England from 29 March, although in Scotland it is likely to be April before we will see a return to action.

BD Regional Review: in the heart of your community
During the autumn of 2020, British Dressage (BD) conducted an extensive review of the regional structure, as well as the role and responsibilities of the Regional Development Officers (RDO). Activity in the regions continues to be a key part of the fabric of BD, but the overall structure has remained largely unchanged for over 20 years. The impact of COVID-19, combined with a need to reinvigorate our approach in the regions to aid the recovery period, provided the catalyst for reviewing our priorities for the sport over the next strategic cycle.
