Youth Panel
The BD Youth Panel is designed to give a voice to young people within British Dressage.
The Youth Panel will support the BD Youth Technical Committee and Regional Committees by advising, driving, and informing the work of BD Youth. This is your opportunity to have your say, and contribute to change that impacts you.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for applicants who:
- Are aged 16-25 or 25-27 (with prior experience of BD Youth and are still competing with BD).
- Are from a range of backgrounds to bring together a diverse group of perspectives and experiences.
- Will act as an advocate of British Dressage and the perspective of BD Youth members.
- Will represent Youth riders in their region.
- Will support British Dressage’s vision and objectives.
- Will act as a youth advisor, using current and previous experiences to support others.
Members of the BD Youth Panel will be expected to attend a maximum of four quarterly online meetings, and one annual in-person meeting. This is a voluntary role, and members are subject to a maximum length of two consecutive terms of two years.

Opportunities for Panel members
In return for contributions to the British Dressage Youth Panel, members will have access to a range of opportunities, such as:
- Volunteering at BD events
- Participating in media training
- Attendance at industry-relevant training and networking sessions
- Developing leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
The application process
- Submit your application by 15 September - please complete and return the application form below to officials@britishdressage.co.uk before midnight on 15 September 2024.
- Applications will be reviewed, and all applicants will be contacted. The shortlist will be invited to attend a short online interview on a date to be confirmed.
- Appointed members of the BD Youth Panel will be required to attend an initial session at Vale View on 16 November.
