Judges

Getting involved in dressage isn't just about the riders! Our judges are a vital part of our sport, without them we wouldn't be able to run all of our competitions.

Judging

Many trainers and riders, from Novice level onwards, use their knowledge to progress into a career of judging. They find that it helps their test riding skills as well as their riding generally and ability to teach. Nearly 1,600 British Dressage judges perform this vital voluntary role, which includes over 600 trainee judges.

Writing

Activity within British Dressage simply couldn't happen without its strong network of officials and volunteers, and being a writer is one of those key volunteering roles that are integral to our sport. If you're also a rider, volunteering to write for a judge will give you an even better insight into what judges are looking for, which can help your own performance!
