Alison Timmins

Senior Rider Represenative

Alison works as a Local Authority Manager in a busy Housing Department.  Outside her ‘proper job’ she’s a BDCC Level 3 Accredited Coach and Listed Judge.  Alison has 4 horses - 2 retirees, one of which she evented and then competed up to Inter 1, a youngster and her current competition horse.  Alison has been a regular member of teams and is keen to get involved in the Region’s events and getting to know more members.

Jessy Grove

Senior Rider Represenative

Jessy has been a BD member since the age of 15, starting out in BYRDS and has worked her way through ponies and young riders to riding PSG at senior level. 
She has worked in Germany with the Hanoverian State Stud, Verden Auctions, and with Holga Finken & Isabel Freese where she trained up to Grand Prix. She also has a BSc in Equine Sports Science and ran her own Rider Fitness Business for 14 years. After leaving the professional equestrian industry she became a Health and Safety Manager which is now her full-time job. She now competes her little rescue cob and is looking forward to helping and supporting members with their BD journey. 

Rachel Longworth

Senior Training Representative

Rachel is the new senior rider rep for the south of the North and East region. She owns and run a small dressage and livery yard based in Derbyshire. She owns two ex racehorses that she has retrained for dressage and her daughter Sophia is a successful BD youth rider with her two ponies. She is a trainee BD judge. She also owns two broodmares and expect their first dressage pony foal this June. She very much looks forward to being out and about representing and supporting the region. 

Jess Griffiths

Youth Representative

Jess studied a BSc in education studies and sport and a PGCE at university after which she worked in a primary school. She now works part time in a special needs school and coaches the rest of the time. Jess is an accredited BD coach having gained her UKCC Level 3, she is also a List 4 Judge. She has competed her own horse Blitz up to PSG who she has trained from a 4 year old. She enjoys training and continuing to expand her own knowledge to improve her riding, coaching and judging. She trains with Amy and Tracey Woodhead. She is excited to work with the BD youth riders and hopes to share she experience and knowledge to contribute to developing our youth riders into successful, knowledgeable, sportsmanlike riders of the future.

Charlotte Clark

Youth Representative

Charlotte is well known to BD Youth members and for the last two years was an active Youth Ambassador. She competes two horse and has ridden at the National Championships, as well as having attended the Foundation Academy in 2019 and 2020; achieving A Squad as a rider. She joins Jess as a BD Youth Rep and brings her recent experience with her to support others.

Charlotte Wilson

Coaching representative

Charlotte is the regions Coaching Representative. Charlotte runs Snainton Riding Centre near Scarborough, North Yorkshire. She is a BD List 2 Judge, a UKCC Level 3 British Dressage Accredited Coach, and Youth Assessor and UKCC Level 3 Generic Coach. Charlotte also holds the British Horse Society’s Stage 5 Performance Coach in Complete Horsemanship (BHSI). She coaches and competes, competing a variety of different types of horses, with a particular interest in ROR, being the former coach to the ROR Display Team. After developing a strong interest in coaching following the UKCC qualifications she took a Master’s Degree in Sports Coaching, which offered a sound basis to theory to attach to the practical knowledge gained through the years working in the industry. She is very keen to develop coaching opportunities within the region.

Helen Copeland

Judges Representative

Helen is a List 3a and Para Judge with a passion for dressage. She has a small livery and training yard based in Gateshead and work within the equine sector. With experience as both a competitor and judge, she hopes to offer support and guidance across the levels especially towards the new exam and judge training system 

Vicky Earnshaw

Para Representative

Vicky is a grade 3 para rider based in Leicestershire with her two horses and a couple of liveries. She has competed at national and international levels and has represented the North East Region at the Para Home Nations. She is looking forward to supporting para riders in the region with both training and competition opportunities. She will also be there to encourage new para riders and offer support to those being graded. 

Sarah McClarron

Marketing Representative

Rebecca studied a BSc in Equine Studies and now works full time as a Digital Marketing Executive. Outside of work she enjoys caring for her two horses: one retiree and her current competition horse. Rebecca has been an active member of British Dressage since she was 17 and has loved been involved in Youth and Senior activities and teams. She is keen to represent and support the region and hopes to influence more people to get involved.
