Charlotte grew up in her parents riding school, and took the first Equine Degree in the country at Warwickshire College. Alongside her academic training, she became a BHSI or Level 5 Performance Coach in Complete Horsemanship. On completion of her BA in Equine Studies, Charlotte returned home to run Snainton Riding Centre, which at the time trained students from all over the world for British Horse Society Examinations. Following closure of the riding school aspect of the business during covid, SRC is a competition, livery and training yard. Charlotte has continued with practical and academic qualifications, becoming a BD Accredited Level 3 Coach and BHS Level 3 Generic Coach, which supports her as a coach, BD Youth Assessor and Coach, and Para Coach. She is also qualified as a Level 3 Tutor & Assessor and in this role she is a Level 2 Coach Educator for BD. Following an interest in coaching, she studied an MSc in Sport Coaching.

Through the years Charlotte has enjoyed Judging and progressing through the levels, presently a List 1 Judge and Para Judge.  Her most recent qualification is a Level 3 Award in Mentoring, a new role for her with BD, which she is thoroughly enjoying supporting, coaches, judges and riders. As a competitor she has competed and trained many horses to advanced level and worked a lot with the Retraining of Racehorses Organisation coaching their display team for four years.  As the previous Coaching Rep for the North East Region, Charlotte is looking forward to her role as Judges Rep and hopes that she can bring her knowledge and experience to support judges in the region.

Vicky is a grade 3 para rider based in Leicestershire with her two horses and a couple of liveries. She has competed at national and international levels and has represented the North East Region at the Para Home Nations. She is looking forward to supporting para riders in the region with both training and competition opportunities. She will also be there to encourage new para riders and offer support to those being graded.

Rachel is the new senior rider rep for the south of the North and East region. She owns and run a small dressage and livery yard based in Derbyshire. She owns two ex racehorses that she has retrained for dressage and her daughter Sophia is a successful BD youth rider with her two ponies. She is a trainee BD judge. She also owns two broodmares and expect their first dressage pony foal this June. She very much looks forward to being out and about representing and supporting the region.

Jess studied a BSc in education studies and sport and a PGCE at university after which she worked in a primary school. She now works part time in a special needs school and coaches the rest of the time. Jess is an accredited BD coach having gained her UKCC Level 3, she is also a List 4 Judge. She has competed her own horse Blitz up to PSG who she has trained from a 4 year old. She enjoys training and continuing to expand her own knowledge to improve her riding, coaching and judging. She trains with Amy and Tracey Woodhead. She is excited to work with the BD youth riders and hopes to share she experience and knowledge to contribute to developing our youth riders into successful, knowledgeable, sportsmanlike riders of the future.

Alison works as a Local Authority Manager in a busy Housing Department.  Outside her ‘proper job’ she’s a BDCC Level 3 Accredited Coach and Listed Judge.  Alison has 4 horses - 2 retirees, one of which she evented and then competed up to Inter 1, a youngster and her current competition horse.  Alison has been a regular member of teams and is keen to get involved in the Region’s events and getting to know more members.

Charlotte is well known to BD Youth members and for the last two years was an active Youth Ambassador. She competes two horse and has ridden at the National Championships, as well as having attended the Foundation Academy in 2019 and 2020; achieving A Squad as a rider. She joins Jess as a BD Youth Rep and brings her recent experience with her to support others.

Jenny is based in Lincolnshire with her family and five horses - three Lipizzaners, a companion pony and a semi-retired hack.  She has trained her older Lipizzaner from first backing to competing successfully at Grand Prix.  The younger two have big hoof prints to follow!  She is an active competitor in the region and has represented the North and East region at several Home Nations.  She is also an active coach, working with all levels from nervous novice to advanced and beyond.  Jenny has taken BHS exams to BHSAI, Int.T and Int.SM, and more recently the UKCC 2 and 3 through British Dressage.  She has really enjoyed developing her coaching skills and enjoys working with other coaches to support their development and continued education.

Gwyneth is the Coaching Represenative for the North of region. She became a BD member at age 14, where she successfully competed through levels to Grand Prix with the help of Stephen Clark. Here her interest in judging grew, Gwyneth is now list 1 Judge, National Para Judge, BD Youth Assessor and UKCC Level 3 Coach.

Gwyneth's parents used to own New Moors which ran as a successful training and competition centre for many years. Gwyneth is now a freelance coach and trains people of all abilities. She is very much looking forward to working with the regions coaches.
