We’re delighted to confirm the full calendar of major dates for 2026, including Premier Leagues and domestic international fixtures.
Last month we unveiled our first major dates for 2026, confirming the host venues for Regionals and Quest fixtures across the country. Building on that launch, we’re now delighted to share further detail with the full line-up of Premier League and International dates included, along with Young Horse qualifiers and Combined Training dates.
Planning the competitive calendar each year is no small feat, for our Sport Operations team it’s like assembling a complex jigsaw. We work closely with all areas of the sport to ensure every rider, whether competing nationally or internationally, has ample opportunity to achieve selection scores, meet international eligibility standards, or earn direct qualification for our National Championships.
In parallel, we also consult with other equestrian bodies abroad to manage event traffic into the UK, helping to prevent congestion at border controls and ensure smooth flow for horses, riders, and officials alike. Where possible, we also try to avoid clashes with major overseas competitions for our international riders, although with an equally busy fixture list on the continent this is not always possible.
The 2025 season presented some challenges, with the Premier League calendar condensed and three CDI fixtures staged within a truncated period for international selection. This limited window placed increased pressure on both competitors and selectors, with shows scheduled in quick succession, creating added demands for horse and rider combinations.
For 2026, we have worked diligently in a concerted effort to alleviate those pressures. By intentionally spacing out Premier League and international fixtures, we aim to provide better recovery time for competitors, support organisers in delivering high-quality events, and maximise participation across the board.
We look forward to working with organisers across the breadth of BD events, from our grassroots championships to international fixtures, and hope to see many members taking part in the wide range of opportunities over the course of the next year, to ensure our venues and competitions are all well supported.
