Becky Moody enjoyed a successful visit to the FEI World Cup Qualifier held at Equita Lyon, France (30 - 31 October 2025), collecting two runner up placings and some promising scores.

World number one and double European Champion Justin Verboomen (BEL) secured the top placings in Lyon (FRA) with his black stallion Zonik Plus. The duo placed top of the pack in the Grand Prix round on Thursday 30 October, with an immaculate test earning a new personal best of  81.195%; before going on to secure his first-ever FEI Dressage World Cup™ Freestyle victory with 87.075% – despite a few small errors – his win was unanimous across the judges.

Travelling to Lyon with her own and Jo Cooper's Jagerbomb, Becky Moody made her mark in both tests, showing much class for two confirmed runner up placings. In the Grand Prix, Becky delivered 76.196% for a unanimous second place; before going on to earn a whopping 85.175% in the Freestyle, delighting the crowd with her cheerful Beatles-themed performance. Their harmonious and flawless test placed them within two percent of the in-form Verboomen. “I was smiling all the time! The crowd here was amazing," Becky said after her performance, "I’m so lucky to ride Jagerbomb, I always enjoy riding him. He is very consistent, has an incredible temperament and is very trainable. He makes my life easy, but you can always have a good or bad day. In the Grand Prix I was a bit frustrated with myself, not with Bomb. Today everything felt super.”

After this second leg in Lyon, Verboomen now sits ninth in the FEI Dressage World Cup™ standings. Fie Christine Skarsoe leads the series, followed by Thamar Zweistra and Germany’s Raphael Netz. The next leg of the FEI Dressage World Cup™ Western European League will take place in Stuttgart (GER) on 14 and 15 November.
