We're pleased to announce the team representing Great Britain in the CDIO5* Nations Cup competition taking place in Compiègne later this week.
Nations Cup team
Alex Harrison-West from Somerset and his own Kickback (bay gelding, 2015, Galaxie x Florencio I, AES)
Ellie McCarthy from Hampshire and her own Braveheart II (bay gelding, 2014, Bordeaux x Tuschinski, OLD)
Richard White from West Sussex and his own Heroi Do Siexo (brown gelding, 2012, Rubi x Jalisco, POR)
Thomas Goode (pictured) from Oxfordshire and Richard Jackson's Furstenrausch PS (black gelding, 2015, Furstenball x Festrausch)
The 14th edition of the Internationaux de Dressage de Compiègne promises to be a fantastic fixture, held at the stunning Stade Équestre du Grand Parc for four days. The event presents the only French stage of the Nations Cup, alongside high-level international events (CDI3*, CDI1*, CDIU25, CDIYR, CDIJ, and CDIP).
Compiègne often provides a milestone for riders preparing for the summer's FEI Championships, with senior riders this year aiming for the 2025 European Championships in Crozet.
Judy Harvey, BD International Director, commented: "We have three newcomers making their senior team debut this week, in Alex, Tom, and Ellie. Richard’s horse is also developing really well, so we are excited to see what this team can produce. The Nations Cup series provides a great opportunity to develop up-and-coming talented riders and it's always exciting to give new combinations the chance to shine on a big stage. Darrell Scaife will also be taking on Chef d’Equipe duties for the senior dressage team for the first time, so we wish them all the best of luck in Compiegne."
