New BD Learning Hub module: The Championship Checklist

As get ready for the Winter Regionals and Winter Area Festivals, we’re delighted to introduce a brand-new resource to the BD Learning Hub, The Championship Checklist.
As we look ahead to the 2026 competition season, now is the perfect time to refresh your understanding of championship procedures. Whether you’re busy preparing for your first BD championship or returning as a regular competition, the Championship Checklist has been designed to support riders at every stage of the big occasion. Expect clear, practical guidance to help you feel prepared for the day, with the different steps from arrival to arena covered in three sessions.
From understanding what our stewards are inspecting, to getting to grips with arena familiarisation and making your horse feel comfortable away from home; this short course is a great online supplement to your championship preparation.
The course is divided into three short sessions:
- Pre-competition inspections: including vaccinations and trot-up.
- Before the centre line: covering access to stabling, arena familiarisation, arena walks and general exercise.
- Post-competition checks: including a detailed tack check explaining what stewards look for and how to receive guidance in advance, rather than discovering an issue when it’s too late.

Simply visit the landing page, available via the BD website and follow the instructions to create an account.
