Premier League action returns to Vale View Equestrian in Leicestershire this week (19–22 June 2025), with four days of competition set to be a summer highlight and a valuable mid-season marker for many of Britain’s leading riders.

Michael Eilberg and Dante VX

The action gets underway on Thursday with a full morning of Medium, Advanced Medium and Advanced classes, offering a platform for a host of exciting up-and-coming combinations.

The day builds towards the first of the Small Tour contests, beginning with the Saracen Horse Feeds Intermediate I at 11.25am. Among those contesting the class are Bryony Goodwin with Antonia Brown and Catherine Witt’s Krack DE, Darren Hicks with Emma Woolley’s Kinnear, and Alex Chick with her own Giovanni BM. The Fairfax Saddles Prix St Georges follows from 2.30pm, with Amy Woodhead, Darren Hicks and Michael Eilberg kicking off what promises to be a highly competitive line-up. Prix St Georges and Intermediate I classes also feature on Friday and Saturday, completing a strong programme of Small Tour sport.

Thursday also features the Stübben Intermediate II in Arena One. Michael Eilberg re-enters the ring, this time with EDH Zorro, joined by Greg Sims (Waverley Fellini) and Amy Woodhead (VV Lioness) among a quality field that also includes Jonathan Clarke-West, who returns with Goomong Zinfandel following a win and a third placing in the Intermediate I at last year’s Vale View Premier League.

Friday brings the week’s feature class, the LeMieux Grand Prix, which is set to begin at 2.55pm in Arena One. The class has attracted 24 starters, including last year’s runner-up Alice Oppenheimer with Sarah Oppenheimer’s striking liver chestnut mare Headmore Bella Ruby (by Belissimo M), as well as third-placed Louise Bell with her own and Tonya Wood’s Into the Blue. They’ll be joined by the likes of Bobby Hayler with Susan Van Hout’s Charmeur-sired Iconic II, Kimberley Siddorn on Dutch Class, and Jessica Dunn aboard Dan It’s Carston, making for a high-calibre contest.

With some super entries, young horse and youth rider classes, four full days of competition and coveted places at the LeMieux National Championships to play for, Vale View Premier League promises to be a true summer highlight in the British dressage calendar.
