Premier League season begins this week, as Vale View Equestrian in Leicestershire host the first fixture of the year and the contest for LeMieux National Championship tickets officially opens.
The road to championships and international arenas begins in earnest at the Vale View Premier League Dressage show — the first Premier League fixture of the season and one of the earliest opportunities for combinations to lay down a marker in the British Dressage calendar. After months of winter preparation, plenty of combinations will be seeking to test their training progress and for those stepping into the FEI arena, it’s a chance to gain invaluable experience under major event conditions.
For those contesting the classes from Advanced Medium level and beyond, there's plenty of opportunity to make the most of. The first LeMieux National Championship qualification tickets of the year will be up for grabs at Vale View, immediately raising the stakes and giving great quality across the classes.
Alongside them, the opening KBIS Young Dressage Horse and Pony qualifiers bring an added layer of excitement, offering an early glimpse of the sport’s rising stars and the combinations who may dominate future seasons.
Other future stars will be in action across the FEI youth classes too, as plenty of young people take to the arena to begin their all-important campaigns for championship team selection.
The LeMieux Grand Prix looks set to provide a real show highlight, with no fewer than 20 entries. Amongst those are 2025 Premier League class winners Darren Hicks and Tramonta Tiger Feet, former Middle Tour champions Chrissie Havis and Beckhouse Piano Blue and former FEI WBSFH World Young Horse representative Waverley Fellini, now at the heady heights of Grand Prix under Greg Sims.
British-breeding looks set to be on parade too, with many of the UK's major breeding stations represented - from Mount St John and Hawtins Stud, to Swanmore stud and Scotland's Calendonia Dressage Horses. Keep an eye out for these prefixes in the young horse classes, but also some of the higher levels too with plenty of representation at Small Tour.
For those looking to experience high quality dressage, we highly recommend a visit to Leicestershire to enjoy the action. For times and results, please visit the BD Live Shows page via the button below.
