Hartpury University and College in Gloucestershire hosted a packed few days of Summer Regional competition, with brimming classes and high-quality combinations doing battle for titles and tickets (30 July – 1 August 2025).

Earning the top score across the show was Hartpury local Sonnar Murray Brown, who recorded a fantastic 75.660% in the HorseQuest Elementary Gold with Amanda Leadbeater’s Devina B (De Beau x Validation). The powerful six-year-old mare would also go on to win a second class of the week, earning 74.790% in the BETTALIFE Novice Gold.

Dan Greenwood also recorded an impressive qualification mark, scoring 75.330% to win The Centre Line Prelim Gold with Antonia Brown’s SJL Vivaldo (Vivaldi x Furstenball). The high-quality class saw Brendan Tegg place second with 74.070% and Jezz Palmer place this with Furstin Fleur Caledonia on a matching mark of 74.070%, with one less point for the collectives.

In the Silver classes, Megan Bailey earned two tickets to the LeMieux Nationals in one class, completing a one-two in the BETTALIFE Novice Silver. With San Serai ZK, owned by Anna Fullerton-Batten, Megan scored a super 71.510% to top the podium; whilst her own Estelle K earned second with 69.950% - her second runner-up placing of the show, having finished in the same spot in The Centre Line Prelim Silver.

There was another one-two to celebrate in the TopSpec Medium Gold, as Robert Barker earned success at Hartpury with his rides Kilian’s Bartholomew and Licorno. It was Christine Kirk’s Baron-sired bay Kilian’s Bartholomew to take the top spot, earning 72.220% and his second ticket to Somerford Park – having already won the KBIS six-year-old qualifier at the same venue last month.

In the Small Tour classes, there was success for Hawtins Stud riders, both current and past. Gijs Van Vooren presented the powerhouse chestnut Hawtins Bellegra to success in the Saracen Horse Feeds Intermediate I Silver, scoring a confident 68.190%. Speaking on Facebook, a delighted Gijs commented “Hawtins Bellegra gave me the best feeling to date which made me very happy! Thank you to Serena Pincus for her continued support, Judith Davis for this incredible opportunity and Lucinda Elliott for her support.”

Whilst Hawtins Stud graduate and former rider of Bellegra, Lucinda Elliott, earned the top spot herself in the Fairfax Saddles Prix St Georges Gold with Mezati (Franklin x Belissimo M). The pair crowned a great season of results with a regional title, scoring 69.850% in front of Debbie Wardle, Alison Duck and Rebecca Trower.

Also continuing great 2025 was Davy Harvey and Judy Peploe’s Diamond Blue, as the pair earned an inspired mark of 71.620% to claim the Saracen Horse Feeds Intermediate I Gold. Fiona Gair and BRS Kingdom joined Davy on the top step of the podium, earning victory in the Prix St Georges Silver, whilst also taking the runner up spot in the Intermediate I Silver – what a show to remember for the Wiltshire-based rider.

Congratulations to all riders who earned tickets to the LeMieux National Championships, as well as everyone who took part. Thanks go to Phillip Cheetham and all the team at Hartpury University and College for a wonderful week of Regional Championship competition.
