Kelsall Hill hosted three days of Summer Regional Championship competition from 18 – 20 July 2025, as 13 riders took the 14 titles on offer at the Cheshire venue.

Conwy-based Greg Sims (pictured above) was the only rider to take multiple wins at the North & West Regional Championships, earning two victories with two promising horses. In the TopSpec Medium Gold, Rebecca Hulme’s Faraldi (Farrell x Dancier) scored 73.102% to place ahead of Jessica Dunn and WHS Funtime Frankie with 71.991%. Whilst Waverley Fellini looked established at Small Tour, earning a super 70.245% to win the Saracen Horse Feeds Intermediate I Gold.

The success for BD Wales continued with two riders taking the spoiles in both Preliminary classes, sponsored by The Centre Line. Former Associated Championship winning rider Anita Jones brought forward her own handsome gelding Arizona EM to claim the Gold class with an enormous score of 75.067%; the AES registered chestnut is show jumping bred by Eiddwen Hughes, sired by the famous Arko III.

Wales Senior Rider Representative Helen Hopewell also rode to a fantastic mark in the Prelim Silver, notching up 73.200% with her own six-year-old Ototo ASH (Furst Toto x Desperado). The pair have been earning consistent scores at Prelim and Novice level throughout the season.

The Fairfax Saddles Prix St Georges Gold title went to Bridget Tate with her own 15-year-old gelding Daltrey, on a winning score of 69.657%; whilst the Silver class saw Charlotte Donovan and Just Its Mie earn 69.608% to book their place at the LeMieux Nationals, where they’ll hope to replicate their top three finish at Advanced Medium level in 2024, or even step further up the rankings.

Former LeMieux National title winner Katie Scott earned another place in the starting line up at the summer finale with her own Liverpool KS, after winning the TopSpec Medium Silver with 69.769%. Katie’s praised her talented Foundation-sired gelding and her support team on Facebook, saying, “We even scored a magical perfect 10. Thank you so much to all my incredible supporters who came today, with a special thank you to Cassie & Sadie for all your help. Time to celebrate—Nationals here we come!”

Congratulations to all riders who earned tickets to the LeMieux National Championships, as well as everyone who took part. Thanks go to the team at Kelsall Hill for three top days of Regional Championship competition.
