Northallerton Equestrian Centre hosted a bumper weekend of competition action, with both BD Summer Regionals and KBIS Young Horse qualifiers taking place at the North Yorkshire venue (26 – 29 July 2025). With more LeMieux Nationals tickets up for grabs, some of Britain’s top riders were in action at the venue, achieving high scores and strong results.

Anna Burns enjoyed a spectacular few days of results at Northallerton’s Summer Regionals, earning two wins and a third place. With Andree Buxton’s four-year-old Raver TC (pictured), Anna rode to a win in The Centre Line Prelim Gold, on a fantastic score of 73.67%. The Dutch gelding is bred by renowned horse breeder Tim Coomans, sired by First Date and out of a Spinoza sired mare. Anna, who’s stable jockey to Becky Moody, went on to win the TopSpec Medium Silver with San Isidro with 70.74%; as well as placing third in the BETTALIFE Novice Gold with 70.59% on board Becky’s five-year-old Playboy V (by Chapeau TN).

Becky herself collected tickets to the LeMieux National Championships, with a one-two finish in the TopSpec Medium Gold. It was her own Don Galahad (Don Index x Furstenball) to take the top spot, with the six-year-old scoring 72.22%. Whilst Lisa Clarkson’s Furst Bendito was a worthy runner-up on 71.44%.

Holly and Amy Woodhead were on form throughout the week, collecting wins across both the Summer Regionals and KBIS Young Horse Semi-Final. The sisters took both of the top spots in the Fairfax Prix St Georges Gold, with Amy and Furstin Fugger winning the class with 71.18% and Holly following suit in second, earning 68.63% with Extra II. Suzy Dawe’s gelding and Holly would go on to take a win of their own, taking the Saracen Horse Feeds Intermediate I Gold title with 69.26% - in only Holly’s third test at the level.

Heidi Hutchinson stood out in the Silver classes, taking a duo of wins with her own First Sebastien. Heidi booked her ticket to the Nationals in the Bret Willson International Advanced Medium Silver (68.94%) and the Fairfax Saddles Prix St Georges Silver (66.91%) presenting her long-term dancing partner with much pizzazz. The combination have competed together since 2019, rising through the levels from Novice to Small Tour.

Paralympic medallist Sophie Wells continues a successful Summer Regional season with another win, this time in the BETTALIFE Novice Gold with Ontario LC scoring 71.99% to take the top spot ahead of Amy Woodhead in second and Anna Burns in third. Sophie praised her ride ‘Rio’ and her team on Facebook, commenting, “Such a good boy! Thanks to the support team today, you are the best, we have had such a lovely day! Looking forward to the nationals with both Rio and Dottie.”

Congratulations to all riders who earned tickets to the LeMieux National Championships, as well as everyone who took part. Thanks go to the team at Northallerton for three top days of Regional Championship competition.
