Last week, the RAI Amsterdam set the scene for the eighth leg of the FEI World Cup™ Dressage 2019/2020 Western European League (23 – 26 January 2020). Defending World Cup Champions Isabell Werth and Weihegold OLD (GER) topped the leader board, pushed to wire by Charlotte Dujardin and Mount St John Freestyle whilst Charlotte Fry and Everdale exhibited the makings of a world class combination.

Charlotte Dujardin and Mount St John Freestyle (pictured above) delivered two astonishing performances, with the beautiful 11 year old mare showing much power alongside incredibly elastic softness. On Friday, they achieved a Grand Prix personal best of 81.956% even with an uncharacteristic blip in the one-time changes, such was the quality of the work. The performance placed them second to Werth, whilst Lottie Fry and 11 year stallion Everdale (Leatherdale x Negro) also achieved a Grand Prix PB - 75.696% - for seventh place amongst the world’s elite.

On Saturday, Dujardin and Mount St John Freestyle (Fidermark x Donnerhall) added almost two percent to their freestyle personal best with a superb 89.505%, to sit oh-so-close behind the defending champion.

What a day and what an incredible mare. I loved every single minute of riding her in the arena today to score 89.5% and am so excited for all that is to come.

“It was a wonderful crowd and a brilliant show and I felt very privileged to ride in front of you all. Thank you.”
