As the Youth European Championships draw closer, it is time to meet the team that is heading out to represent Great Britain at Olomouc in the Czech Republic from 13 – 19 July.

Amelia Dovey

Having only taken over the reins from her sister earlier this year, Amelia is presenting on Hannah Dovey’s Sheepcote Jackson. Jackson, who was originally bred at the Sheepcote Stud in Herefordshire, is a 13-year-old chestnut gelding by Johnson. As is the case with the whole team, this is Amelia’s first European Championships and Amelia’s first season of international competition. In just a few shows together after their debut at Myerscough, this combination have dominated the domestic CDI’s and shown massive growth in a short space of time.

Q: How does it feel to be selected for this year’s Europeans?

A: I feel super excited to be selected and I can’t wait to ride down the centreline in Olomouc. I can’t quite believe it. Words cannot express enough to describe quite how grateful I am to the team behind the scenes.

Q: What’s been the highlight of your season so far?

A: Winning all three CoH classes at Hickstead CDI, and securing 81.834% in the individual competition.

Q: Who is somebody you look up to and why?

A: Phoebe Peters- I was lucky enough to have a zoom talk her learning all about her career so far. She really inspired me and gave so many top tips which I use in my training all the time.

Sebastian Houlston

Sebastian ‘Seb’ Houlston and Charlotte Lutener’s Full Fusion BS is our next combination. Full Fusion BS, known as Flo at home, is the other British-bred horse on the team. Originally bred at the Bramley Stud in Bradford, Flo has been piloted by Seb since November 2025, and the duo have produced a strong campaign season, showing consistency and growth in performance since the beginning of the year

Q: How does it feel to be selected for this year’s Europeans?

A: Absolutely amazing, I feel very privileged to have been selected. My trainer asked me on my first lesson with Flo what my goal was. My answer was “The Europeans!”… I never thought that it would come true. I’m really excited!

Q: What’s been the highlight of your season so far?

A: Definitely riding at Hickstead in my first CDI International, the venue and the International arena was so cool to ride in.

Q: What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

A: Stay in your lane and ride the horse you have underneath you on that day.

Isabelle Stuart

Travelling from Surrey, Isabelle will be making her European Championship debut aboard Prince May The First, known as Price at home. Isabelle and Prince have been a partnership for six months, and have produced a stellar debut international season together. Since their first appearance within the white boards, the duo have been climbing from strength to strength, achieving a hattrick win at the spring Hartpury CDI.

Q: How does it feel to be selected for this year’s Europeans?

A: I feel exceptionally privileged and excited- I am so incredibly grateful for this opportunity.

Q: What’s been the highlight of your season so far?

A: Attending my first CDI and wearing the GB flags.

Q: Who is somebody you look up to and why?

A: I look up to Carl Hester- he is such an amazing and kind rider.

Stella McComb

Based in Gibraltar, Stella has had a busy competition season across Europe with Dos Álamos. Aboard the 17-year-old Hannovarian gelding, the duo has posted an incredibly consistent and strong campaign over the last few months, producing personal bests at CDI Alter do Chão at the beginning of May.

Q: How does it feel to be selected for this year’s Europeans?

A: Overwhelmed . It is amazing, it truly is a dream come true.

In the pairs two international shows, they have produced multiple 70+% scores, two podiums in their Premier League appearances. Sophia and Herbie have been a partnership for five months.

Q: How does it feel to be selected for this year’s Europeans?

A: Being named first reserve for this year's Europeans is such an honour, and I'm incredibly proud to have been selected. None of this would have been possible without the most amazing horse, and I'm so proud of what Herbie and I have achieved together.

A: Being invited to my first CDI.

Q: Who is somebody you look up to and why?

A: Madi and Morgan Haerr because they are both amazing riders and have always made time to help and support me.
