Hagen

Germany-based Susan Pape campaigned at CDIO4* Nations Cup event in Hagen, Germany (2 – 5 July). Susan, who is one of the British nominated riders for the FEI World Cup 2026, competed against some of the top German names, including Isabell Werth, to finish in ninth place in the CDI4* Grand Prix with 70.174%. Aboard her own and Harmony Sporthorses’ Harmony’s Giulianta (Jazz x Flemmingh), the 15-year-old KWPN mare has been a consistent performer all season and is well established at this level. The duo’s consistent test highlights include excellent piaffe and passage work, which regularly score favourably among the judges.

In Saturday’s Grand Prix Special, Susan finished in seventh place, with Isabelle Werth (GER) taking the win aboard Viva Gold OLD with 78.894%, and Katharina Hemmer (GER) with Denoix PCH finishing in second with 77.362%. Competing in front of judges Katrina Wust (E – GER), Alice Schwab (H – AUS), Maria Colliander (C – FIN), Maribel Alonso de Quinazanos (M – MEX) and Clive Halsall (B – GBR), Pape scored 70.979%.

Mâcon-Chaintré

Gloucestershire-based Darren Hicks made the trip to Mâcon-Chaintré, France for the 3* event. Darren and Tramontana Tiger Feet (Grey Flanell x Hotline) competed in the Grand Prix and Special classes, where the highlight of the week was a finish in fourth place in the Special. This is only the duo’s second international competition abroad, where they are showing good growth and improvement with each outing. In this Grand Prix class, they finished 15th with 65.804%, over two percent higher than their last outing in Tolbert back in April. The class was won with a commanding lead by Spanish rider Borja Carrascosa, who scored 72.587% in front of fellow Spaniard Juan Antonio Jimenez Cobo who scored 70.109% with Quartar.

In the Special, Darren and Tramontana Tiger Feet produced another international personal best score in the special, finishing on 65.967% to come fourth. The class was won by Portugal’s Jeannette Jenny with her Lusitano Jairo D Alem, who scored 67.830%, with French order Bertand Liegard finishing in second place on Ginger with 67.085%.

Congratulations go to the riders, and to the grooms, owners and whole team involved as we look forward to the next international fixture.
