With classes from Prelim to Grand Prix, and every level in between, the event will have an extra feel of celebration as the first large fixture post-England lockdown and Simon Bates and his team have put in extra tight COVID measures to ensure a safe return to competition for all.

There’s also classes for FEI Pony and Children on Horses riders – a great opportunity to get some test riding in ahead of next year’s selection bid. We can reveal that a number of the riders invited for the LeMieux National Grand Prix are on the list to ride in today’s Grand Prix – but we can’t release the names just yet!

The event will be held behind closed doors so sadly no spectators but the team from Horse & Country will be there livestreaming the action from the indoor arena. The stream will be available on subscription on their H&C+ platform. It’s just £5.99 per month with no contract – subscribe for December and you’ll be able to watch the LeMieux National Grand Prix Championships (21 – 22 December) on demand after the show until the end of the month.

The highlight of the weekend is set to be British Dressage Middle Tour Festival, a new championship for 2020. Taking place over three days, the Festival is for riders competing at Inter A, B and II in both the Silver and Gold sections. A great entry gets underway on Friday with the FEI Inter B test, Friday it’s Inter II and Sunday is Freestyle Inter A/B. There are four titles on offer – Inter B and Inter II Gold and Silver champions – who will take our inaugural titles?
