Fiona Bigwood

Fiona returns to the international stage with her own Donna Bella, daughter of her Rio Olympic silver team medal ride Atterupgaards Orthilia.

Currently ranked 24th in the FEI World Rankings, Fiona Bigwood is no stranger to the World Championship stage. In 1996 she was the youngest British rider ever to have been selected for a senior European Championships at just age 21, Fiona has gone on to compete at the European Championships on six occasions (1996, 1997, 1999, 2005, 2007 and 2015). In addition to this, Fiona has also attended the Young Horse World Championships twice (2024 and 2025, selected as reserve for 2026), was a part of the Silver medal winning World Championships Team held in Kentucky (2010) and was a part of the Silver Medal winning Rio Olympics Dressage Team (2016).

Donna Bella, who is out of Fiona’s former Olympic ride Atterupgaards Orthilia, have had a super season so far, dominating the domestic CDIs so far this year. Taking the win in the CDI3* Grand Prix at Hartpury (March) and Hickstead (May), and placing second at Wellington (June) where they posted an international personal best score of 74.609%. The pair have been growing in strength throughout the season, with scores creeping as the young mare gains confidence on the international stage. The pair also attended the Fontainebleau (FRA) CDIO Nations Cup event in April, where the team finished in second place.
