Multi-medallist Sophie Wells brings forward a new ride this year, with Emma Blundell’s MSJ Gold Standard, as Sophie looks to add to her impressive medal tally at her fifth World Championships.

Currently ranked at the top of the leaderboard in the FEI Para Dressage World Rankings for Grade V riders and tenth in the overall rankings, Sophie Wells has been a consistent member of the British Para Squad since 2009 when she made her European Championships debut at Kristiansand and the team struck Gold. Since then, Sophie has gone on to help the team bring home six European medals at seven championships (2010, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2023). At the World Championships (formerly World Equestrian Games), Sophie has helped to bring home two team medals, and multiple individual medals at each year that she has attended (2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022). Alongside this, Sophie is a four-time Paralympian, helping to bring home three Gold team medals (2012, 2016 and 2021), as well as eight individual medals at each of those games, including two Bronze medals at Paris in 2024.

MSJ Gold Standard burst on to the scene with Sophie at the Waregem CPEDI3* back in April, having been produced by Holly and Amy Woodhead up to that point. Prior to Waregem, Sophie had taken the Governor-sired mare to the British Dressage Para Winter Championships in February, where they won the Grade V Grand Prix A, and finished second in the Freestyle. So far, the duo finished off their campaign on a high, posting personal bests in all their tests to take home a hat-trick win at the Hartpury Summer CPEDI. In the Grand Prix A, B and Freestyle, the pair scored 74.051%, 74.395% and 80.265% respectively to claim their personal bests by over two percent.
