2025 Membership Pricing Review

As part of the annual budgeting process, British Dressage can confirm the membership prices for 2026, ahead of the new calendar year and competition season.

The sport has enjoyed a period of sustained growth over the past five years, which has enabled us to keep price increases to a minimum and shield members from the impact of inflation.  Throughout the pandemic and the wider cost-of-living crisis, we have taken a number of steps to limit the financial impact on our members.  As a result, last year marked our first increase to membership subscriptions since 2021.

Our pricing structure has remained significantly below inflation for several years, even as our operational and staffing overheads have continued to rise.  It is therefore necessary to increase our membership and horse registration prices by an average of 4% in 2026 to ensure that we can continue to deliver the same high standards of service and ensure financial stability for the sport as a whole.

This is only fractionally ahead of inflation, which is currently running at 3.8% for the 12 months to the end of October 2025.  To put this into context, inflation has increased by 25% since 2021, whereas the cost of membership has been limited to a rise of just under 11.6%, including next year’s price increase.  This is thanks to prudent financial planning to ensure that BD members continue to receive excellent value for money.

We remain committed to full transparency and to making responsible financial decisions that protect the long-term interests of our members and the sport.  We will continue to make investment into developing our operations, people and IT systems, while identifying and driving efficiencies wherever possible.

In summary, the following price increases will apply from 1 January 2026:

Full (competing) and horse registration

  • Full (competing) membership will increase by £4 to £106 per year.
  • For members who pay monthly the price will increase by 50p per month to £9.75.
  • Horse registration prices will also increase by £3 to £88 per year, or £7.75 if paid monthly.
  • The Full (competing) package for a single horse and rider will cost £194 per annum, an extra £7 combined, representing an overall price increase of 3.74%.

Full (non-competing) membership

  • Full (non-competing) membership will increase by £2.50 to £67.50, or £5.75 if paid monthly.

Club membership and horse registration

  • Club membership will increase by £2 to £42 per year, while Club horse registration prices will increase by just £1.
  • A Club package for a single horse and rider will therefore cost just £3 more, at £63 per year.
