Addington Equestrian in Buckinghamshire got their Premier League fixture underway this morning and what a high quality contingent of riders they have for the third Premier League competition of 2019. Three days of top dressage from today, Friday, through to Sunday (10 – 12 May).

This morning the focus was on young horses with qualifiers for the Hickstead National Championships while the International equivalent runs this afternoon with good representation from some strong British breeding alongside some of Europe’s premier breeding on show.

Visitors Friday will also have a mammoth Fairfax Saddles PSG line-up to look forward to. Lizzie Murray has her her winning 2018 Small Tour Championship partner Ulyssa while Tom Goode rides Langley. There's a few combinations who showed strong form at the recent NAF Five Star Winter Championships in the mix too, such as Nathalie Kayal and DHI Cleverboy, Becky Moody and Full Fusion BS and Jess Bennett with JB Dukaat.

Friday’s Saracen Horse Feeds Inter I also boasts a top field with Paul Friday bringing forward three rides. The Cavalor Inter II ends day one; Claire Gallimore with Annette Ballerina, Lucy Pincus and Sheepcote Doncalisto, Joanna Therman-Baker and Highcliffe Apollo and Maria Eliberg with Royal Concert must be ones to watch here.

On Saturday there’s the chance for our Pony riders hoping to catch the selectors’ eye with a good performance and then it’s a day of Small and Big Tour Action. Large Fairfax Prix St Georges and Saracens Horse Feeds Inter I classes will run throughout the day and, fresh from Windsor, Carl Hester and Charlotte Dujardin will be in action in the PSG with their young stars Brioso II and River Rise Nisa respectively.

Starting at 11:12 on Saturday is the LeMieux Grand Prix. Carl Hester will be in action with his 2018 World Equestrian Games partner Hawtins Delicato while team mate Emile Fauie has two rides in Shilo and Quentano 2. Crowd pleasers Steph Croxford and My Hyde are entered as are Becky Moody and Carinsio. Pammy Hutton has two rides also.

Sunday starts at 9am with another bumper Advanced Medium section, this one acting as a qualifier for the Equine Construction Championships later this year. Also in action is a third massive Fairfax Saddles Prix St Georges section which includes Gareth Hughes and exciting prospect Sinanto Van Hof Olympia and Judy Harvey riding Palimera.

There are Freestyle classes at both PSG and Grand Prix to bring some musicality to Sunday in the indoor arena which are followed at 11:40 by Shearwater Young Horse qualifiers for four, five and six year old horses. Leanne Wall and Nereide Goodman are the judges presiding over the action.

For all this, simply head to the newly refurbished Buckinghamshire venue – entry is free on all three days. Addington boasts a high quality cafeteria with amazing pies and viewing of the main arena.
