Further to the publication of our Sport Operational Plan last week, British Dressage is delighted to confirm the full calendar of dates and venues for the rescheduled Winter Regional finals, with the announcement of a venue in the eastern area of England. Codham Park Equestrian, near Braintree in Essex, will now host a Regional to replace Easton College, who were unfortunately unable to host a rescheduled fixture due to educational commitments.

The Codham Park Regional Final will be held over four days, from 22 – 25 May. The fixture joins seven other dates covering Great Britain over a six week period to enable members who had already secured qualification to compete for a place at the NAF Five Star Winter Championships at Hartpury in Gloucestershire. The Championships are provisionally scheduled for late June / early July; plans for these are progressing well and dates will be confirmed in due course.

Organiser Sharon Peters and her team have run BD shows for eight years and were awarded a Petplan Equine Area Festival three years ago, so they are no strangers to putting on a big occasion. The main 80 x 50m competition arena sits in an amphitheatre and features a Combi-Ride all-weather surface, overlooked by the clubhouse.

South & East Development Officer Katharine Perry commented; “I have to say thank you to Duncan Whitney-Groom and Easton College for doing everything possible to try and get the Regionals in their calendar. Easton is a popular venue and they are always great hosts, so hopefully we can return there in 2022. In the meantime, we’re grateful to Sharon and Codham Park for stepping in at relatively short notice to make sure competitors in the area are still able to contest their Regionals.

“The team at Codham Park has put their lockdown time to good use by upgrading the facilities, including a new viewing gallery, a brand new café and increased hard standing area for lorries – and I’m sure they’ll be truly excellent substitutes. We’re all looking forward to welcoming competitors to the venue.”
