Wellington Riding is proud to host Wellington Premier League Show this week (6 – 10 June 2018). With over 650 competitors and waiting lists for classes, it is going to be one of the most exciting competitions in the venue’s busy event calendar. This year also sees the integration of the KBIS Para Gold Semi Finals into the Premier League which is an exciting new development.

The five days of high level dressage will take place in the Waterloo Arena which is 8000 square metres of performance space crafted by Andrews Bowen Ltd and surfaced with their specialist ProWax. The Waterloo Arena was formally opened at this show last year by Lord Mornington and has since proved a transformational force in establishing Wellington Riding’s profile as a national competition venue with internationals bids in for 2019/2020. The clubhouse with café bar and al fresco dining area overlooks the Waterloo Arena making it a great place to relax and enjoy watching some stunning dressage.

The Gala Evening on Saturday 9 June is the highlight of the Premier League with seated tickets already being snapped up by the public to watch top class riders from all over the country compete for the coveted first prize. John and Diana Barley, owners of Nirvana Spa, an award winning day spa located in Berkshire, are delighted to be the proud Gala Sponsors of the Class 25 Freestyle Music Prix St Georges for a second time. Nirvana Spa’s sponsorship brings a generous first prize of £2,000. Other prizes include luxury spa visits for some well-earned relaxation and recovery at this beautiful spa facility in Berkshire.

“Wellington Riding was one of the first centres in the country to run Dressage to Music. Our Waterloo Arena will indeed prove to be a music freestyle battle field for these high profile PSG competitors with such a prize at stake. To our knowledge this is the highest level of prize money awarded to a first placed rider at a British Dressage Premier League and we are extremely grateful to Nirvana Spa for being such a generous sponsor for the second year in a row – they really have created a Gala Evening legacy. We are also delighted to welcoming Alban Tissot as our guest international judge for the Gala Evening.” – Lucinda Freeman, Wellington Riding Show Secretary

This Gala Sponsorship is perfectly matched as Diana’s long term passion for horses and dressage began with her very first lesson at Wellington Riding. Since that time Diana has been a passionate advocate for the riding community and for many years Nirvana Spa has sponsored para-equestrian dressage events as well as events at Wellington Riding and the British Dressage ‘Volunteer of the Month’ award.

“Nirvana Spa relishes the opportunity to support likeminded, dynamic, local businesses. The decision to be Gala Sponsor was inspired by our shared values of excellence and desire to create innovative facilities and luxury experiences. This summer will see the unveiling of our Colosseum Suite. This impressive structure will be home to extraordinary facilities and ground-breaking concepts, where the emphasis is not only on relaxation but also on healing. Designed to cleanse, soothe and revitalise the skin, the body and the mind, the Colosseum Suite aims to become a wellbeing centre of healing and recovery. Diana believes all riders would benefit from spa relaxation and therapy as part of their training and recovery” – Nirvana Spa

The competitor experience is paramount for the team at Wellington Riding with the Premier League offering the opportunity to showcase their top class facilities. The support of their sponsors is key – the team is very proud to be working with leading brands including Nirvana Spa under their new affiliated sponsor programme which make competitions like the Premier League and the upcoming Wellington Country Fair & Horse Trials (25-27 Aug) so much more interactive. Wellington will be profiling all their sponsors throughout the competition via social media, including Gala Evening ticket giveaways.
