It is with much sadness and regret that we announce Oldencraig Equestrian Centre will no longer be able to host British Dressage affiliated shows from the end of August this year, although any scheduled shows up to that date will still go ahead as planned. The Petplan Equine Area Festival Final scheduled for 4 – 6 October will be reallocated to an alternative Southern venue, with a formal announcement to follow in the very near future.

Sport Operations Manager Lou Jones and Southern Regional Development Officer Sharon Walker are currently working to secure a replacement Area Festival Final and they will also review if any other fixtures gaps have been created with Oldencraig’s departure. As soon as arrangements for a replacement venue have been finalised, it will be announced on the BD website and via social media.

Sharon Walker commented; “It’s always sad to lose venues from the BD community, but an equestrian centre with the standing, reputation and longevity of Oldencraig closing is undoubtedly a big blow for our sport. It’s been an honour and a pleasure working with Ian Winfield, Vicky Thompson Winfield and all of the team at OEC, we have enjoyed many years of amazing fun and memorable events.”

Jason Brautigam, British Dressage CEO, continued; “Oldencraig will be very much missed from the BD calendar and I am sure all members will join me in thanking them for all of their support for British Dressage over the years. I understand Vicky will continue to ride, train and compete, while Ian will also carry on with OEC brand worldwide. We wish them all the best in their future competition endeavours and business ventures.”
