To support the education of future British Dressage coaches, there are a range of live training opportunities requiring horse and rider combinations to give their time to support the delivery of workshops and assessments.

British Dressage has launched a new Rider Reward Scheme to recognise and thank the riders who generously give their time to support our training and education courses.  By taking part in training events as a demonstration rider, you can enjoy a free coaching session and earn rewards along the way. Rewards include coaching opportunities, event tickets, merchandise, memberships and vouchers, with over £130 worth of benefits available throughout the year as a token of our appreciation for your support.

  • British Dressage water bottle

After 2 sessions:

How the Scheme Works

After attending a workshop as a rider, simply complete the Rider Reward Scheme form and email it to officials@britishdressage.co.uk. The British Dressage Head Office team will verify your attendance and confirm your chosen reward or provide details on how to redeem it. Rewards are cumulative and can be claimed within a 12-month period from the date of your first workshop attendance. Once either 12 months have passed since the riders first workshop attendance, or rewards for all six sessions have been claimed, your attendance count will reset, and you can begin accumulating rewards again from session one.

Book training sessions

Take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to receive free training while helping coaches progress towards their recognised dressage coaching qualification. As part of the British Dressage Coaching Certificate (BDCC) course, coaches deliver a 40-minute coaching session to showcase their knowledge and skills as part of the training and assessment process. It's a great chance to gain valuable coaching experience for you and your horse, get a new perspective, or train in a new environment, while playing an important role in supporting coach development.

British Dressage coaching courses run annually, usually throughout the Spring to Autumn months and at different venues around to UK each year. Courses have a minimum of 6 workshop dates, providing opportunity for riders to attend multiple sessions at the same location over a few months.

For a Level 2 qualification, coaches are required to deliver sessions at Novice/Elementary level and Level 3 coaches deliver sessions at Medium-Advanced Medium. Therefore, there are a range of opportunities across these levels including paired sessions (Novice/Ele combinations), individual (Medium/AM) or test riding sessions (Elementary or Advanced Medium).

A range of free rider training opportunities are currently available and can be booked through HorseMonkey using the link below. BD Youth riders under the age of 18 are welcome to take part when accompanied by an adult.
