A strong British contingent travelling to Compiegne CDI in France enjoyed promising results and valuable mileage gained in a competitive international and Nations Cup environment (1 - 5 May 2024).
Becky Moody and her own and Jo Cooper’s Jagerbomb (Dante Weltino OLD x Jazz) continued their superb run of form produced two tests to leave her amongst the very top of the standings. In the Grand Prix, they earned 73.804% for sixth place, before going on to achieve a runner up position in the Grand Prix Special with 74.298%.
With her mother Sarah’s pocket rocket Gio, Annabella Pidgley delivered two secure performances to earn 71.522% in the Grand Prix and a sixth place rosette in the Grand Prix Special with 71.936%.
Andrew Gould presented Max and Tatiana Skillman’s lovely Zhivago-sired stallion Genie in Compiege, gaining valuable mileage and concluding their week with 70.060% and twelth place in the Grand Prix Freestyle.
In the 1* Small Tour competition, Jess Dunn may have been the only representative but she made it count with Jennifer Whittaker’s Dan It’s Carston, achieving a set of top placings. Finishing second to Holland’s Dinja Van Liere and Reesink Horses rising star Mclaren, Jess opened her show with second place in the Prix St Georges, scoring 70.853%. In the Intermediate I it was second again, earning 69.441% to place behind Danish team stalwart Nanna Skodborg Merrald.
Junior rider Isla Sully brought home first place accolades at Junior level, with her 2023 team bronze medallist Vagabond de Massa putting his best foot forward across the week. The pair placed second in the Team and Individual tests, before claiming Sunday’s Freestyle contest with a standout mark of 75.220%. Fellow Junior rider Sofia Games also earned top placings with Leslie Forlee’s Boccelli 6; including a podium position in the Individual competition, scoring 70.441%.
