FEI European Championships 2026: Children Team Bronze and Junior individual competition results

It's a brilliant Bronze for the Children on Horse team, with each combination producing incredibly well ridden tests to help achieve our first ever CoH team medal! The Junior Rider individual tests also provided educational, confidence building rounds and a wonderful top ten finish for Isla Sully.

Children on Horses
The young quartet of riders delivered in the spotlight of the European Championships, to produce Team GB's first Children on Horses team medal ever! Isabelle Stuart was the first to go for the Children on Horses team, producing a harmonious test with Prince May the First to come away with a personal best score of 71.400%, leaving them in 20th place. Isabelle rode a fantastically accurate test, earning a mark of 8.2 for her Precision and 7.8 for Effectiveness of Aids from judges Alban Tissot (E - FRA), Marten Van der Heijden (E - NED), Gabriela Valeriánová (H - CZE), Knut Danzberg (C - GER), Thomas Lang (B - AUT). Unfortunately, a sat-nav error at the start of the test did mean a half percentage deduction from the judges, however Isabelle handled the error with a great amount of maturity and went on to produce a brilliant test for the team. Speaking after her test, Isabelle reflected saying “the test felt really good, Prince went really well”, and that achieving a personal best was “absolutely amazing”.
Stella Mccomb was next up with Dos Alamos, producing an accurate, relaxed test to score 73.734% and leaving them in fab 11th. Stella rode the test with lots of confidence, earning herself 80.000% for her rider mark, and a 67.467% technical score. The judges rewarded this confidence, giving her 8.2 for her General Impression, 8.0 for her Seat and Precision, and 7.8 for Effectiveness of Aids. Beaming after her test, Stella told us that “it felt amazing. Dos Alamos and I did everything we could, and I love the score that we got at the end. The highlight of my test was probably the extended trot; I loved riding that and it felt like we both flew. I enjoyed all of it. I started crying with happiness when I saw my score, I didn’t think we had done as well as we had, today was a really good day.”
On the second day of the team competition, it was another personal best score for Sebastian Houlston and Full Fusion BS, which left them in a very strong ninth place in the individual standings. Seb achieved a brilliant 81.750% for the rider mark, and a consistently accurate test led to a 69.400% technical score. This wonderful partnership produced fluent movement through the trot work, transitions and for the simple change. Seb was rewarded with an 8.1 for his Seat and an 8.5 for the Precision of his test. Reflecting on this achievement Seb shared, "the test felt really nice, she [Full Fusion BS] was very active, off my leg and light in my hand. The highlight was our canter". There were adverse weather conditions before Seb's test, disrupting the warm up and delaying the competition, Seb described being able to cope with the weather interruption because he is from North Yorkshire in England, "I am used to it"! Expressing how it felt to get another personal best score Seb shared, "it feels amazing, I am honoured to get a personal best score at a championship, it's insane".
Amelia Dovey, the last team GB member to go in the Children on Horses test, did not let any of the pressure get to her and showcased her wonderful partnership with Sheepcote Jackson in front of the judges. Receiving an amazing 83.750% rider mark and a harmonious test with balanced canter work and lovely steps in the medium being a highlight, the duo produced a 71.133% technical mark. This gave them an amazing overall score of 77.442%, and finished an incredible sixth place Describing how her test went Amelia told us, "it felt amazing, he [Jackson] felt so spicy but he stayed with me throughout the test. I am so impressed with him because we even had a jog in the walk and we still managed to pull that score off". Punching the air after her test, Amelia described her favourite moment as, "going down the last centre line when Jackson and I knew we had done our best".
Junior individual test
Isla Sully and Vagabond went in produced a bold and expressive test, impressing judges consistently throughout to come away with 71.412%, leaving them in an amazing 9th place. Throughout, the duo was scoring average marks between 7.3 and 7.5 in their lateral trot work. In the canter, their changes were a real highlight, scoring between 7.4 and 7.6 from judges Henning Lehrmann (E – GER), Mariette Sanders-van Gansewinkel (H – NED), Christine Prip (C – DEN), Marlena Gruca Rucinska (M – POL) and Frederico Pinteus (B – POR). Speaking after her test, Isla commented that “it was a much better test today than it was yesterday. There is still more to improve on, but I’m happy”, before adding that “it was so hot in there! I felt like a Tiger Prawn coming out!”.
Oriana Mcnamara and Solly followed shortly afterwards, producing a much more energetic and confident test than a couple of days prior, which was reflected by the nearly three percent increase in their score, leaving them on 65.500% to finish 40th. This newfound confidence was reflected in the marks, which included 7.0 for their shoulder in and a 6.9 for their extended walk, which showed excellent over track and relaxation. In the canter work, the pair were completely consistent, gaining 6.9 across the board for their flying changes, and earning 7.0 for their half pass. “I think you go through so many emotions when competing”, Oriana commented, “but to be competing at a European championship, there is so much more that I didn’t know I could go through. Firstly, I’m extremely proud to get here and to the team that have helped me get here. Did I have the ride I wanted? No, but this was my first championship with Solaris and we are learning together. I will come away with so much more knowledge and with that I will go home and work harder”.
On the Saturday of the competition Sofia Games and Bovary JBM (Bonnie) were the first of the British riders to go. Sofia rode beautifully from the moment she entered the arena on the lovely chestnut mare, with the judges rewarding them with 7.2 for both half pass movements and their uphill medium trot was another highlight with 7.3, with a final score of 64.117% and 50th place. Following her test Sophia shared, "I am so happy with her [Bonnie], she was fabulous again, and she was great in the atmosphere". Reflecting on their first induvial test together at a European championship, Sophia told us, "She had a lot more confidence today from the team test, and I felt like we also gave her a confidence building round today. Although we had mistakes I am happy to come away with such a great young horse for the future".
Ella-Grace Dovey and Escomond rode the final Junior Rider individual test of the day for Great Britain, the duo producing a really consistent test, with good marks of 6.6s for the half pass on each rein and 6.8 and 6.7 for the shoulder in. With their collective walk work being rhythmical and a highlight in their test. Their score of 65.882% leaves them in 39th position in the final standings. Ella-Grace had this to say following her test, "I am very pleased with how he went, we did some very good changes, we got three out of four, I just didn't bring him back enough after the medium canter for the last one. Our final medium canter was really lovely; our trot stretch had improved a lot and overall, I am pleased. I am also excited to go and work hard over the winter to come back stronger next year”.
