FEI European Championships 2026: Meet the Pony team

As the Youth European Championships draw closer, it is time to meet the Pony team that is heading out to represent Great Britain at Le Mans, France from 28 July – 2 August.

Ella Fraser

Travelling from Norfolk, Ella Fraser has been a regular face on the international circuit for the last three years. Aboard her partner of four years Brouwershaven’s Viceroy, known as Leo at home, this will be Ella’s first European Championships. This established combination have posted a strong campaign, finishing on a high at the Wellington CDI by winning the team test.

Q: How does it feel to be selected for this year’s Europeans?

A: So so exited! I love our team and can’t wait to go abroad

Q: What’s been the highlight of your season so far?

A: My favourite part was definitely seeing huge changes in Leo’s conformation and our test marks. He’s gained a lot of muscle and it’s given him so much self-carriage and more airtime in his paces.

Q: What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

A: “Make it happen” from Andrew [Gould]. This phrase gave me so much integrity, and it’s true: you have to fight till the end. It made me realise that everything that happened in the next four minutes is up to me.

Amelia Goodear

From Derbyshire, Amelia Goodear will be presenting aboard her 11-year-old gelding Furioso V.H. Enkershof, known as Fury at home. Amelia and Fury have had quite a journey together, starting their story when Fury was just four years old. Amelia started competing him in 2023 before moving up the levels and making their debut at Pony FEI level in 2024 at the Aintree High Profile Show. Since then, Amelia has been competing in CDI’s since 2025 with multiple top three placings and more recently winning both the Team and Freestyle tests at Hickstead CDI.

Q: How does it feel to be selected for this year’s Europeans?

A: I am over the moon to have been selected for the European Championships this year with my amazing pony Fury and my brilliant teammates. The Europeans has been a dream and goal for many years that we have all been working hard towards.

Q: What’s been the highlight of your season so far?

A: Hickstead CDI has been my highlight so far this year, my first international win, taking the win in the Team and Music classes.

Q: Who is somebody you look up to and why?

A: My Mum. For playing not only the role of business owner, practising vet and organiser of our home, but also the full-time planner of my life. For always waking up early to help me train and believing in me through the highs and lows. For being my biggest supporter and best friend.

Queenie Moule

Travelling from Hertfordshire, Queenie Moule has had a busy season aboard her British Bred gelding Amden Supreme Golden Dancer, known as Leo at home. Leo was bred at the Maxsted Massey Stud in Newmarket and has been partnered with Queenie for two years. They have had a strong campaign this season, taking a win at Hartpury CDI and earning a double win at the 2025 Wellington CDI last October.

Q: How does it feel to be selected for this year’s Europeans?

A: It’s an unbelievable feeling to have been selected. It really does feel like the greatest reward you for all your hard work.

Q: What’s been the highlight of your season so far?

A: Every ride with my boy is a highlight as my pony window will be small so it’s a privilege to get to enjoy the rides with him.

Q: Who is someone you look up to and why?

A: My trainer, Annabella Pidgley. Her hard work and dedication can’t be unnoticed. I have been lucky to spend lots of time with her at home and in Denmark and she really doesn’t stop striving to get to where she wants to be. It’s shown me that hard work pays off, and I feel that this mentality and ethic are also helping me to achieve my goals too.

Georgie Morgan

Based in Herefordshire, Georgie Morgan will be presenting Claire Morgan’s Brouwershaven’s Jasper, known as Jasper at home. Georgie and Jasper have been training together for just over eighteen months and have had a busy season. Together, Georgie and Jasper have been consistently on the podiums at both CDI and Premier League level and achieved their international win at the Hickstead CDI. Georgie was originally chosen as first reserve, however due to unfortunate circumstances was called forward to take up her spot on the team to represent Great Britain. 

Q: How does it feel to be selected for this year’s Europeans?

A: Representing Great Britain is an incredible honour, and I am immensely grateful for the experiences this sport continues to provide. Jasper and I are looking forward to giving our very best and making the most of this opportunity. 

I am truly disappointed for Martha and everyone who has supported her journey, but I will embrace this opportunity with gratitude and give everything I have for the team.

A: Winning at Hickstead CDI

Q: What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

A: “Focus on your own path, it’s your journey not anybody else’s”

Martha Jones

Also selected to compete was Martha Jones from Conwy, Wales. Unfortunately, on 16 July, Martha confirmed that she had made the devastating decision to withdraw from the team to prioritise her pony’s welfare. Cognac IX, who is owned by Lily Cawley, and Martha had shown incredibly growth over the season. This included taking wins at both the Hartpury and Wellington CDIs.

Q: What’s been the highlight of your season so far?

A: The highlight of my season so far has been winning both the Individual and Freestyle tests at Hartpury CDI. Scoring 77% in the Freestyle really topped it off and made it an especially memorable achievement.

Q: What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

A: Trust the process. Progress doesn’t always happen as quickly as you’d like, but if you keep working hard and stay consistent, the results will come.
