Fry and Everdale on fire at Kronenberg CDI3*

On only their second big tour appearance, hot prospects Charlotte Fry and Van Olst Horses' Everdale once again showed much promise for Great Britain with two top-three placings at Kronenberg CDI3* in the Netherlands (7 – 10 June 2019).
The rising partnership achieved third in Friday’s Grand Prix behind the Belgian combinations of Fanny Verliefden with Indoctro V/D Steenblok (Rubin Royal x Gribaldi) and Laurence Roos with Fil Rouge (Stedinger x Argentinus). The British pair earned a score of 70.565% from judges Frederico Pinteus (POR) at E, Mariette Sanders-Van Gansewinkel (NED) at H, Freddy Leyman (BEL) at C, Christoph Hess (GER) at M and Maarten Van Der Heijden (NED) at B.
Charlotte, who is reigning FEI U25 European Champion with Dark Legend and famously piloted Glamourdale to victory in the seven-year-old title at the 2018 Longines FEI WBFSH World Breeding Championships, is a key player in the development of the Van Olsts’ world class competition horses. This is evidenced in the superb introduction she’s giving Everdale to the big stage. Just last month, in Compiègne, she and Everdale won the Freestyle on the stallion’s international Grand Prix debut, and at Kronenberg they stole the show yet again.
On Sunday, for his first Grand Prix Special, the elegant black Everdale (Lord Leatherdale x Negro), now 10, was coolly ridden by Charlotte for 71.42% to take close second behind the winning Belgian challenger, Verliefden.
The young Brit also shone in the small tour, winning the Prix St Georges with Fendi T, Anne Van Olst’s nine-year-old Negro x Lester gelding. They achieved a score of 71.20% before going on to claiming second in the Intermediate I (68.76%).
