Becky Moody and Jagerbomb flew the British flag to victory once again at the CDI4* Rotterdam in the Netherlands, claiming second place in the Grand Prix and winning the special with a commanding three percent win. The Grand Prix was won by Marieke van der Putten (NED) and Zantana Rs2 (Zonik x Sir Donnerhall) with 77.957%, followed by Becky and Jagerbomb (Dante Weltino x Jazz), who finished second ahead of Dinja van Liere (NED) riding Mauro Turfhorst (Zonik x Negro) who scored 75.000%. In the special, Becky took a commanding win with 77.575%, Marieke van der Putten finished in second with 74.064%, and Larissa Pauluis (BEL) completed the podium aboard Flambeau (Ampere x Zeoliet) with 73.830%.
Speaking in an interview with ClipMyHorse.TV after her test, Becky commented “It was such a fantastic experience going in the arena for the special. The atmosphere was so electric, it was incredible. He [Bomb] was amazing; he loves that kind of thing. We did have a couple of little issues because he was so excited to be there: we didn’t stand still very well and we didn’t walk very well but everything else was… amazing. Jagerbomb is the epitome of a happy athlete, he loves his job, he goes into that arena and takes it all in while still staying with you and focusing on his work. It’s very rare to have a horse like that”.
In their second 4* event of the season, Thomas Goode piloted Richard Jackson’s Fürstenrausch to complete two solid tests, finishing 19th in the Grand Prix with 67.326% and securing a top ten finish in the special to finish seventh on 67.532%. The Grand Prix showed significant improvement and vast growth in confidence from their debut 4* competition at Lier in February of this year, developing their score by four percent. The pair have had a busy season so far, most recently securing two top ten finishes at both the May Hickstead CDI3* and April CDI3* at Fountainebleau.
CDI Rotterdam is most commonly regarded as the final selection event for Dutch riders ahead of the upcoming World Championships, and consistently shows fierce competition, so a huge congratulations go to Becky, owner Jo Cooper and groom Kim Masson. We would also like to extend our congratulations to Thomas and his team on these fantastic results in such an high-stakes environment.
