British Dressage is incredibly proud to announce international opera sensation, Russell ‘The Voice’ Watson and his lovely wife Louise, as our guests of honour at the inaugural Para Dressage Music Gala Night, taking place at Myerscough College near Preston in Lancashire on Friday 21 February, during the Equissage Pulse Para Dressage Winter Championships.

Russell Watson

Once described by the New York Times as a performer “who sings like Pavarotti and entertains the audience like Frank Sinatra”, Russell is globally respected and admired. The tenacity our para athletes show in producing outstanding dressage with their horses is matched perfectly by Russell’s path to international success. Having worked from the factory floor, literally, to performing for Presidents, Emperors, foreign and British royalty, he has overcome challenging medical issues, inspired millions and always been at the heart of several outstanding charities and trusts. Read more about Russell on his website. Russell won't be performing on the night but we're hoping he and Louise will be up for presenting some prizes.

British Dressage Para Director Julie Frizzell commented; “To have Russell and his wife Louise, a talented dressage rider herself, as our guests is such a privilege and will make for a truly unforgettable evening for our para dressage athletes. We cannot wait to share our own performances with Russell and Louise; what a wonderful start to the year for all our riders, from those on the Paralympic campaign to our first-time para freestylers.”

The evening is free to attend with arrival at 5:30pm where you’ll be greeted by a glass of prosecco for a 6:00pm start as you take to your heated seats. The café will be open for light suppers in the interval. The evening comes to an end with the prize giving at around 9:45pm. We look forward to being part welcoming you to Myerscough for a star studded historic evening with a glimpse of riders preparing for Tokyo alongside our rising stars.
