We are excited to announce that Ideal & WRS Saddle Company is back on board as sponsor of the British Dressage Combined Training Series for the 2018/19 winter season.

Despite some challenging conditions at last year’s finals that saw sponsors, organisers and riders alike dodging regular snow storms, this hugely popular series continues to go from strength to strength. And to further enhance the prestige of the competition, Hayley Watson-Greaves – British national dressage champion and brand ambassador for Ideal & WRS – has been announced as the series’ Championship Ambassador.

James Hitchen, Business Development Manager at Ideal & WRS, commented: “We were so impressed by every aspect of last year’s Combined Training Series and are delighted to commit our support once again. It’s a superbly run series, every qualifier last year was well attended and qualification places were well earned. We were all unlucky with the weather at the finals, but that didn’t dampen spirits, with competitors keeping smiling and riding superbly. It was a well-fought battle for our championship rosettes and we’re looking forward to seeing who comes out on top in this year’s final!”

Hayley Watson-Greaves successfully competed in eventing, show jumping and working hunter before settling for a career in dressage. “I love the combination of dressage and jumping, with horses showing their versatility across both disciplines. I think the series is great for the sport of dressage as it will help to widen its appeal to the jumping crowd. I train a lot of event riders during the winter and highly recommend combined training competitions as a great way for them to monitor their training progress over the winter months.”

Chief Executive Jason Brautigam said; “I’m very pleased that Ideal & WRS Saddle Company are back for another thrilling Combined Training series and would like to thank them for their tremendous support of this championship. Everyone at BD is proud of this very diverse event, which is proving to be a real success in providing grassroots riders with another opportunity to experience a dressage championship. I’d like to welcome our new championship ambassador Hayley, who will no doubt provide inspiration for many of our competitors. We’re looking forward to watching the action unfold and crowning more champions, with the generous backing of the team at Ideal & WRS.”

The series commences in October, with qualifiers running through to March 2019. To view a full list of qualifier dates, as well as more information on how to qualify for the championship final, please click here.
