New BD Learning Hub module: Equine First Aid

We're pleased to announce the latest addition to the Learning Hub: First Aid, a brand-new course that has a 20% discount available for members. 

The latest edition of our Equine Health courses, this course is designed to help riders know the key elements of first aid to help in emergency situations whilst they wait for the vet. It joins our existing Equine Health courses, including Biosecurity, Worming Wisely, and Equine Anatomy, in order to give learners the opportunity to build their knowledge across a range of essential equine health topics. 

Developed in collaboration with Dr Lucy Rudd MRCVS CertAVP, Lead Equine Veterinarian at MED Equus and specialist in sport medicine and poor performance, the Equine First Aid course explores essential topics, including:  

• Recognising key signs that something may not be right, such as temperature or behavioural changes 
• Key first aid issues and how to handle them before the vet arrives, such as colic, lameness, and infection 
• How to recognise and care for different wound types with the help of your vet
