Nice one Jesty

Young rider Anna Jesty (19) achieved a double international victory by winning both the Young Rider Team and Young Rider Individual Test at Nice CDI3*/CDIU25/CDIY in the south of France (1 – 4 March 2018).

With Aquiro (pictured), her partner of four years, she claimed Friday’s Young Rider Team Test with 68.43%, maintaining her position at the top by winning Saturday’s Young Rider Individual with a fantastic personal best score of 71.47%.

Anna and ‘Gleavo’, a 15-year-old Aquino x Donnerschlag gelding, have made a successful step from the Junior ranks to Young Riders, with good results last year at Waregem CDIPJY and wins at the Valencia Tour in Spain. The rider, who hails from Wimborne, Dorset works for international rider Anna Ross as a rider and groom at her base in Cholderton, Wiltshire.

Bronte Watson (24), who is also based with Anna Ross, made her U25 debut with Cleverboy, her 11-year-old son of Vivaldi, with promising percentage scores of 63.13 in the Inter II, 63.13 in the U25 Grand Prix and 65.58 in the Freestyle. The pair, who enjoyed a successful 2017 Valencia Tour with top Small Tour placings, started this year in fine form with a fifth place in the Inter II at Addington High Profile Show in January.

The duo’s trainer Anna Ross said via Facebook; “Very proud trainer at Nice CDI - Anna Jesty won both the Young Riders tests with a ‘best ever’ international score of 71.4% with Aquiro and Bronte Watson got her U25s Grand Prix campaign with Cleverboy off to a solid start in their first ever tests at the level gaining valuable experience and improving in every test. Rosettes and rain were the theme of our week but a great start to the year.”
