Nominated para dressage entries for Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games announced

British Equestrian and the British Dressage para selectors can today confirm the 12 para dressage athlete and horse combinations that will be submitted to the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) as our nominated entries for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Only the combinations who appear on the nominated entries list (closing date 5 July 2021) may be put forward to the British Paralympic Association for selection to the Games.

Nominated entries, listed by grade then in alphabetical order by athlete surname:

Grade 1

  • Sophie Christiansen (33) from Woking, Surrey, with her own Die Furstin (chestnut, mare, 16.2hh, 9yrs, Dankeschon x Furst Piccolo, Breeder: Bernhard Nienkemper NED) and Innuendo III (dark bay, gelding, 16.3hh, 13yrs, s. Last Minute)

Grade 2

  • Sir Lee Pearson (47) from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, with his own Breezer (bay, gelding, 16.1hh, 9yrs, s. Bacardi, Breeder: Lee Pearson GBR)
  • Georgia Wilson (25) from Abergele, North Wales, with Geoff and Julie Wilson and her own Midnight (brown, mare, 15.3hh, 12yrs, Hilkens Black Delight x Cassander, Breeder: Carrie Passmore GBR) and Sakura (chestnut, mare, 16hh, 7yrs, Breeder: G Eilberg GBR)

Grade 3

  • Natasha Baker (31) from Uxbridge, Middlesex, with Joanna Jensen, Christian Landolt, Phillip Baker and her own Keystone Dawn Chorus (bay, mare, 16.1hh, 10yrs, s. Dimaggio, Breeder: S. Lavendera GBR)
  • Erin Orford (32) from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, with the Lady Joseph Trust’s LJT Diamond Crusador (bay, gelding, 16hh, 7yrs, s. Diamond Hit, Breeder: Robert Eylmann GER)

Grade 4

  • Nicky Greenhill (43) from Elstead, Surrey, with Gary Greenhill and her own Betty Boo (black, mare, 16.3hh, 12yrs, Benetton Dream x Londinderry, Breeder: Lynne Crowden GBR)

Grade 5

  • Charlotte Cundall (36) from Malton, North Yorkshire with the Lady Joseph Trust’s LJT Simply Red (chestnut, gelding, 16.2hh, 12yrs, s. Sixten Langholt, Breeder: Dorthe and Hans Jorgen Hoeck DEN)
  • Sophie Wells (31) from Harby, Lincolnshire with Charlotte Hogg’s C Fatal Attraction (dark brown, gelding, 16.1hh, 14yrs, Fidertanz x Olivi, Breeder: E. E. Brandon NED), Roland Kinch’s Don Cara M (dark bay, gelding, 16.3hh, 12yrs, Breeder: H. M. At the time of release, the grooms’ names for each horse have not been confirmed but will be included in the next announcement. 

Selection decisions are subject to the athlete and horse maintaining fitness and performance, and this list may be amended at any point up to 5 July 2021. The selected squad of four combinations to travel to Tokyo, plus reserves, will be announced on 16 July 2021.
