It’s nearly time for our second to last Premier League of the season, and this week we are heading down to Chard Equestrian in Somerset for four days of top-class action (Thursday 18 June – Sunday 21 June).
Featuring classes from Medium through to Grand Prix, Freestyle to Music competition, KBIS Young Horse and Pony qualifiers and the ever-popular youth FEI classes; this event promises to show huge amounts of top-class British talent on home soil.
With 224 tests due to take place across the four days, including 16 entries into Friday’s LeMieux Grand Prix, 13 entries in Saturdays Stubben Intermediate II, 38 entries across Thursday and Friday’s D&H Intermediate I and 52 entries across three days of Fairfax Saddles’ Prix St Georges competition. The Grand Prix boasts some fantastic entries from riders Alice Oppenheimer, Darren Hicks, Spencer Wilton and Charlotte Dicker; with the other big and small tour classes boasting other top names such as Hannah Biggs, Sara-Jane Lanning and Jonathan Clarke-West.
Competitors will be fighting for one of the highly coveted golden tickets to the LeMieux National Championships that are due to take place 10 – 13 September at Somerford Park, Cheshire. In addition, the Young Horse qualifiers will be providing these combinations with another opportunity to gain their place at one of the KBIS Young Horse Semi-Final competitions, either at Hartpury (who are also holding the KBIS Young Pony Championships) from 30 June – 5 July, or at Northallerton from 23 – 26 July.
For those following from home, live times and results will be available via the button below. Horse&Country will also be covering the action via live stream; this is a great chance to make the most of the exclusive BD member discounts, accessible through the member benefits page that can be found here.
