The President's Commendation is an award that recognises outstanding contributions, by an individual or group, to dressage in Great Britain. Its recipients are a shining example of commitment and contribution to British Dressage, displaying significant selflessness in supporting others and making a difference in their community.

We're pleased to announce that Alicia Anderson and Susie Cumine were presented with this prestigious award by Chairman Jill Day in front of regional committee colleagues and the BD head office team at the annual BD Regional Representatives meeting on Monday 4 March.

Alicia Anderson (pictured above) joined the regional committee 16 years ago, having been the organiser of Lewiston Dressage in Dorset for many years. Alicia was the South & West Regional Chairman for eight years, working tirelessly to support the region and bringing with her a vast depth of knowledge and experience. Alongside her role as Chairman, Alicia progressed through the BD judging system and is currently a List 2 judge, with her focus firmly fixed on achieving List 1 status in the future. Alicia took her interest in judging into additional support to the South & West community, taking on the role of Judges Representative following the completion of her term as Chairman. Alicia was an encouraging and hardworking Judges Rep and Chairman, and her expertise will be greatly missed as she retires from the committee.

Susie Cumine (pictured below) took up the reins as South & West Chairman following Alicia's departure eight years ago. As an active judge, owner and supporter of British Dressage, her outstanding knowledge and hands-on experience brought many benefits to the region. Susie helped the South & West community navigate the challenges of Covid-19, and was always resoundingly positive in her help and support. During her time as Chair, Susie also progressed on her judging journey and continues to study for her next upgrade. Always full of energy and enthusiasm, Susie will no doubt remain close to the region in years to come; the South & West team look forward to calling on her expertise in the future.

British Dressage extends grateful thanks to both Alicia and Susie for their immense contribution.
