Following it's first year running as an affiliated event in 2021, British Dressage youth riders will again have the chance to compete across six days and earn points for their efforts with results shown on their BD Online record. Qualification emails for the individual championships are on their way to those notching up points to have a shot at the prestigious titles, following in the footsteps of countless high profile riders who proudly list past success at these championships on their biographies.

The Regional team competition returns this year at Prelim, Novice and Elementary, with short arena tests in use. Riders should enter direct, with each region's Development Officer and Youth Representatives then formulating the teams – an exciting event not to be missed. If you are keen to get more involved in your region and team events this is a great place to start!

The championships are open to youth riders up to the year of their 25th birthday and feature premium sponsored classes thanks to the Sheepgate team’s efforts and popular show format, including the famous outdoor evening prize givings, a celebration not to be missed. Classes will run with bronze, silver and gold sections featuring regular qualifiers on each day of competition plus a music championship at each level. Sponsor rosettes and prizes will be awarded overall in the classes and the Bruce Grant Memorial Trophy will be awarded for the second year to commemorate the visionary behind the championships we now enjoy.

For those competing in the FEI classes, Championships for each international age classification will be on offer again, as will the individual championships with levels from Prelim to Advanced Medium.

Sheepgate’s Sarah Payne commented; “We are delighted that this hugely successful show is still hugely popular and even bigger with the team event back in the schedule, and we look forward to welcoming everyone. The affiliated format is exciting and competitors always get a warm welcome on arrival, hence Sheepgate’s motto … ‘well worth the journey’.
