The BD Training and Education team is delighted to announce the lineup for this year’s Principles of Judging Seminar.

Returning to Moulton College in Northamptonshire on 5 – 6 October, judges, trainers, riders and dressage fans alike will be treated to a rare opportunity to learn from three of the most globally respected FEI judges, Isobel Wessels, Clive Halsall and Peter Storr.

Leading lady Isobel Wessels is one of only four FEI 5* judges in Britain. As part of this prestigious role she’s judged at the 2018 World Young Horse Championships, Senior European Championships, multiple European Championships for U21s riders and World Cup qualifiers. Away from her judging duties, Isobel has competed successfully to Grand Prix and also passes on her knowledge as a much sought after coach.

Fellow FEI 5* judge Clive Halsall has been part of panels worldwide at many a high profile international event and will also judge at this year’s FEI Senior European Championships to be held in Rotterdam in August. For Lancashire based Clive, a busy judging schedule is balanced alongside coaching commitments, including his position as British Pony Team Trainer.

BD Judges Director and FEI 4* level judge Peter Storr returns to the Principles of Judging Seminar following a popular appearance in 2018 and will without doubt bring all of his expertise, as a judge, rider and trainer. Having ridden at World Equestrian Games, European Championships and been reserve for the British Team for the Sydney Olympics in 2002, Peter made the decision to commit his career to judging and has forged an impressive reputation which has taken him all across the world.

With live arena demonstrations and class room sessions, expect an interactive, immersive weekend of education led by three progressive judging talents. Covering Intro to Prix St Georges, sessions will delve into discussion around quality of paces, lateral work, scales of marking, test riding and more with plenty of opportunity to participate, ask questions and voice your opinion. The full timetable will be released later in the year, follow the BD website for the latest news.
