Winter is the ideal time to brush up on your training and aim to step up a level in the new year and, with access to the knowledge and expertise from two world class coaches, the National Convention is the perfect supplement to your ridden work.

Gareth Hughes inspired us with his holistic approach to correct training, with a host of his pupils – including daughter Ruby – joining him to demonstrate his principles in action. Gareth’s training features some fantastic exercises to take home and apply to your own riding.

Michael Eilberg spread his family philosophy with a fascinating insight into classical training and riding, whilst making use of cross-training to improve way of going and make training fun for horse and rider. Watch his creative use of pole work, lungeing and long-reining, alongside sessions on how to introduce flying changes, improving lengthening and collection and more.

There’s also fascinating added benefit insight to enjoy from special guest presenters Andy Thomas and Sophie Wells, plus List 1 judge Richard Baldwin. Watch Andy’s input on how improving rider alignment can impact small tour performance from day one's coverage or catch Sophie and pupil Izzy Palmer in their demonstration of lateral work on day two's session. Richard Baldwin also joined the presenter line up for the showcase on day two, discussing what the judge wants to see from freestyle to music test riding at all levels.

Whether you’re aiming for your first affiliated show, stepping up a level, aiming for winter qualification or on the quest for international success – there’s something for all to take home and learn from our flagship training event.
