Wales BD Youth
If you're aged between six and 25 and want to get involved in dressage in your region, then BD Youth in Wales is for you!
BD Youth offers not only competitions, teams, prizes and top training, but also the chance to make new friends and have fun! Wherever you live there's a BD Youth group near you - so taking part is easy, simple and enjoyable.

Regional training
Here in Wales we host loads of training sessions and social activities throughout the year that you can get involved with! Have lessons with national and local coaches, meet fellow young riders with a passion for dressage and have great fun progressing towards your training goals. Sessions and camps run during the school holidays and over weekends and include everything from test riding and training to unmounted workshops, DVD sessions and social activities.

BD Youth Squads
When you start your BD Youth training journey within your region, you can attend assessment days to be allocated to a BD Youth Regional Squad. Being on a squad opens up a whole bunch of opportunities for team competition, including the Inter Regionals, Home Nations and BD Youth U25s Championships at Sheepgate.
Squadding and Horse Care Course
Our BD Horse Care course is designed to help you as a rider learn all of the fundamentals in caring for horses. If you’re a BD Youth rider who is looking to be eligible to compete our regional teams you’ll need to have begun working through the horse care online course.

Micary Youth League
Calling all young riders - get ready for an exhilarating ride with the Micary Youth League in 2024! We've got some exciting changes lined up to make this year even more thrilling. Introducing a new, hassle-free submission process – now you can submit your scores on our rolling application as soon as you achieve them! Plus, we've extended the monthly cut off to the 7th, giving you an extra week to showcase your skills. And that's not all – our revamped point system is set to add a new level of excitement to the results. Here's your chance to shine:
- Participate in Rider Skills Tests at any BD Official event, be it a flexi day or a training session.
- Ensure your spot on the monthly leaderboard by submitting all Rider Skills Test scores and photos on the HorseMonkey app.
- Don't miss out – our rolling applications are open round the clock!
- Remember, only scores submitted by the 7th of the following month will count for that month's leaderboard.
- Double up on your achievements! December scores will also contribute to January's leaderboard, so submit both for a chance at January glory.
- Brace yourselves for fame – the top 5 riders from each squad will be featured on our social media platforms every month, so give it your all and ride to victory!
