Maternity Cover Announcement
With Emma Devoy leaving us shortly for maternity leave, we can confirm that Kerry Sutherland will be taking on the Development Officer role. Kerry will be a familiar face to many members having been a member of the BD Scotland region committee since 2018 in the role of BD Youth representative. With an existing knowledge of the region, committee structure and BD processes, we are delighted that Kerry has agreed to step up from her volunteer role to take on the position. Kerry will be taking on the role fully from 15 March. All Development Officers are currently working reduced hours of two days a week however as we come out of lockdown, Kerry will move to four days a week for the cover period.
horsescotland Performance Programme
The horsescotland Performance Programme for 2021 – 2023 is open for applications. Funded via sportscotland the programme is designed to identify, support and develop athletes who demonstrate the potential to progress to Senior Championship success in the future by developing the foundation skills required for future performance.
There has been a number of changes to the programme which includes Harry Payne joining the squad as the new Dressage coach as well as SNEC being added as a venue for 3 training sessions per year allowing for a dedicated 60 x 20 arena for dressage training and test riding.
We strongly encourage any rider who meets the eligibility criteria to apply for the squad and take up the opportunity of support from a range of professionals including strength and conditioning coaching and physiotherapy. If you are slightly short on the criteria due to COVID 19 restrictions on competition please contact the team at horsescotland to discuss.
