Festival Focus - Parwood Equestrian 21
Parwood Equestrian (6- 9 May) was the second chance for riders to gain their place at the Petplan Equine Area Winter Championship at the end of the June.
The South East venue proved popular for many qualified riders with some large classes across the levels.

Victoria Homden and Olly were the outstanding winners of the Prelim Bronze (Section 2) with 75.35%, the third best score across all festivals this year. The pair recently made their Elementary debut too this year, the seven-year-old stallion started competing with Victoria in 2019 and have had a very successful career so far scoring in the top 3 across all their competitions.
The second-best score across the area festivals this year went to Sasha Good on L’Sierra with 75.69%, in the Prelim Bronze (Section 1). Winning the class by over 3%, the pair only started their dressage career last year after Sasha’s previous grassroots performance with British Eventing on various other horses. The rising five-year-old, owned and bred by Angus Humfrey and Jade Deter call her “Lassie” at home and describe her as “A little pocket rocket.”
The eighteen-year-old gelding, owned by Sarah Thomas won the Novice Silver (Section 2) with 71.39%, contending with the awful weather but that did not seam to phase them. The pair have competed together regularly for thirteen years in various competitions including My Quest and Team Quest, after coming to Sarah as a just backed four-year-old. “He’s a well-bred, sharp horse, and I have to be riding 110%, but I can honestly say he’s my once-in-a-lifetime horse as he’s taught me so much,” Sarah stated.
