Festival Focus - Vale View Equestrian 21
The last festival, in a busy area festivals weekend, at Vale View Equestrian (7 - 9 May) saw just under half the winners achieve scores over 70%. With top competition happening to secure their place at the Petplan Equine Area Winter Championship at the end of the June.

Joanna Blood and Felicia IV secured their place at the Championships with their win in the Elementary Bronze with 68.38%. Joanna expressed on social media that they “Did not expect that at all!!!” and are so excited to be going to Hartpury.
Local girl, Francesca Segalov had an amazing day on three of her horses, winning the Elementary Silver with Ballydunne Captain with 71.67%. In the Novice Silver achieving a top 3 win with an impressive 73.06% on Nigrasine Rain, Ballydunne Captain in second (72.99%) and Desana coming third (70.49%). Owners of Ballydunne Captain, Victoria and Alicia Fell, also compete him in British Eventing, where he is a successful eventer.
Winning the Prix St George Silver with 71.91%, one of their best marks at this level was Shelley Reeve-Smith and Sinderalla. The couple have been together for ten years after breeding the fifteen-year-old mare at her base in Hertfordshire. The pair are also successful at Inter I having finished as runners up in the BD Small Tour Championship in 2019. Shelley has horses in her blood, alongside her sister and don’t have any plans of stopped until they get to the top.
